Dr. Arden G. Christen reviews medical content for Healthwise, a nonprofit organization with a mission to help people make better health decisions. His interests include preventive dentistry, motivation and persuasion, psychology, dental history and ethics, radiography, chemical dependency, addictionology, smokeless tobacco, cigarette smoking cessation, and the clinical effects of tobacco on oral and perioral tissues. Dr. Christen served as a consultant to the National Cancer Institute and is the author of over 300 articles published in medical and dental literature. Since 2000, he has served as a member of the Governor's Advisory Board for the Indiana Tobacco Use Prevention and Cessation Agency. Dr. Christen is Professor Emeritus of Oral Biology and and a consultant in the Department of Oral Biology at Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis, Indiana.
